49 Rush vs. 80 Television

Rush writes huge, complicated prog rock songs about huge, complicated subjects like philosophy, world concerns, and science fiction. While guitarist Alex Lifeson is also held in high esteem, drummer Neil Peart and singer/bassist Geddy Lee are iconic musical figures.

Television rose to prominence in the New York punk scene in the 1970s. They are primarily known for the interplay between guitarists Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd. Their debut album, Marquee Moon, is (in my opinion) perfect in every way.
