15 Nirvana vs. 114 Olivia Tremor Control

Nirvana was one of the bands responsible for the grunge explosion of the early ’90s, which brought punk and indie rock into the mainstream behind the power of songs like “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” Singer Kurt Cobain was called the voice of a generation, and his suicide in 1994 ensured that the band would remain a thing of legend. Drummer Dave Grohl went on to form the highly successful Foo Fighters.

Olivia Tremor Control was one of the original Elephant 6 bands, notable for combining pop sensibilities with experimental sound collages. Creative forces Bill Doss and Will Cullen Hart have gone on to other projects, but have occasionally played together, inspiring hope of a full reunion.
